M&S Reptilien is a German reptile shop that has been serving its customers since 1990. With an established online presence and a range of custom features, the store needed a more modern, user-friendly shopping experience. The existing interface was outdated and not optimised for a smooth customer journey. The client approached 2Hats Logic Solutions to modernise the store, upgrade its Shopware version, and maintain compatibility with its existing custom plugins.
M&S Reptilien: Modern Shopware 6.7 Store Redesign

Outdated interface
The previous store interface was not user-friendly or optimised for today's e-commerce expectations. The client needed a cleaner and more visually appealing design that could make product discovery and navigation easier for customers. At the same time, the store relied on several custom plugins and functionalities. This meant the Shopware upgrade needed to be handled carefully to ensure the existing functionality continued to work after the update. The project therefore involved two key requirements: modernising the store experience and upgrading the underlying Shopware platform.

Modernising the store without losing ongoing changes.
The client needed a modern, user-friendly storefront along with an upgrade from Shopware 6.6 to 6.7. The project involved design creation, theme development, plugin compatibility, and the platform upgrade. At the same time, new changes and support tasks continued on the live Shopware 6.6 store. The key challenge was to carefully track these ongoing updates and ensure every required change was carried over to the new Shopware 6.7 version without affecting existing functionality.
Managing a three-month-plus theme revamp and Shopware upgrade process.
Handling new styling adjustments and change requests on the live Shopware 6.6 store.
Tracking ongoing support tasks throughout the migration.
Ensuring all changes were carried over to Shopware 6.7.
Maintaining compatibility with the store's custom plugins and functionalities.
Deploying the final changes without disrupting the existing functionality.
A complete UI redesign combined with a Shopware 6.7 upgrade.
We upgraded the store from Shopware 6.6 to the latest Shopware 6.7 version and ensured its custom functionality remained compatible with the new version. The project included the creation of a new design for the key customer-facing pages:
Home page, Product Listing page, Product Detail page, Checkout page. Once the designs were approved, we developed the new theme and implemented it across the designed pages. The remaining pages were also aligned with the new theme to create a consistent look and feel throughout the store. The store included several custom plugins and functionalities. As part of the Shopware 6.7 upgrade, we reviewed and updated the custom plugins to ensure they remained compatible with the latest Shopware version.
This allowed the client to benefit from the new Shopware version without losing the functionality their store already depended on.
A more modern and user-friendly e-commerce experience.
The redesigned store now has a cleaner and more visually appealing interface, creating a better experience for customers across key stages of the shopping journey.
The Shopware 6.7 upgrade also brought the store onto the latest platform version while maintaining compatibility with its custom functionality.
The result is a modernised storefront that combines a refreshed user interface with an updated Shopware foundation.
